Over the course of five years, Kava Kafe has become a beloved kava hangout. Originally opened in a hole-in-the-wall sized space at the Kohala Trade Center, the bar relocated to a larger space just across the street in the beginning of 2009 in order to accommodate the constantly expanding crowd of loyal regulars and curious new customers.

In September of 2006 the Kava Kafe unveiled All You Can Drink Night, which has since become a welcome addition to our late night specials; where else can you go for all the kava you can drink?

Known best for our traditional kava, grown locally and afar, we also offer an eclectic menu, that is guaranteed to be good and good for you. Our menu caters to diverse tastes; enjoy a Party Bowl of chocolate kava, a platter of Tahini Sesameminis, fresh Jiaogulan Tea, and our weekly specials simultaneously.

We are located at 1 Akoni Pule Highway, on your right just as you enter Hawi. Our atmosphere is casual, family-friendly and often bustling. Our sitting area is eclectically decorated with tropical flair, local art, and we feature a smoke-free bar with a wide selection of drinks and more.
